Deer in our Backyard

There was a deer in our backyard tonight. All summer we have seen deer - usually in groups of 3 or 4. Recently we started seeing a mother with three tiny fawns (picture of one fawn in earlier post). Tonight just one lone deer jumped into our yard and ate all of our day lilies and many other leaves. Just another complication with our new dog. We tried to keep Annie busy so that she would not see the deer jump the fence so that she would not get any ideas. She did eventually see it in the yard and barked a little at it but thankfully she did not see it jump in and out.

New Toy

Abby's friend, Sabrina, came over to visit today. She brought Annie a new toy. Annie enjoyed it a lot. Thank you, Sabrina.

We have been seeing this mother deer and her three babies out behind our house a lot recently. This afternoon we could only see one baby, though

There are definitely some benefits to humidity and one is the lush growth and beautiful flowers. The last two photos shown here are the backyard of Karl's childhood home taken from the upstairs window.
