Ahh.... The Weekend

Annie loves the weekends and all the extra attention she gets.

Cool Beans

Wow! Who knew that beans could last so long and be so educational? I bought these beans for Abby to play with when she was a toddler - pouring, scooping, sifting, etc. and then she moved on to use them as counters for math. Now I use them with my first graders when we learn about volume and capacity and Karl uses them with his ninth graders for the capture/recapture method of sampling in Algebra.

Yes, she can only play with these with supervision never when she is alone.

Before and After

This is what happens to Annie's toys. The toy on the left - the blue and green one is new and the black and white one on the right is old - a couple of weeks old. It is in two pieces and we have already thrown lots of "strings" from it away. She loves to play tug and to chew. These toys often have really big knots in them when you buy them. Annie works and works until the knot is all undone.
