School Supply Shopping

I gathered up the troops (Karl, Mom and Dad - Abby was at basketball camp) and went shopping for the school supplies for my 1st grade crew. This was the fastest I have ever done this job ever! Thanks guys for all of your help!

Popcorn Cauliflower

Abby requested popcorn cauliflower for lunch today. Of course, I obliged. Popcorn cauliflower is really just cauliflower roasted in a little bit of olive oil and a pinch of salt. It is delicious. While it was roasting Abby and Karl played a few rounds of cribbage.

Work Day

We got lots of work done today. Karl and Abby did some yard work. Annie supervised while chewing on her "outside" bone. Then we all worked on cleaning, sorting and purging all of the kitchen cabinets. We are getting rid of 6 big boxes of dishes/kitchen tools/utensils that we never use. Now we have enough room to have one cabinet dedicated to Karl's gluten-free items and now when you open each cabinet nothing falls out!

10th Anniversary of Our Gotcha Day

Ten years ago today we met Abby and became a family. In the adoption community that is called your "Gotcha Day". If you would like to revisit some old memories, you can watch the short video of our first meeting called Our Trip to Get Abby (this is the first imovie Karl ever made and it still makes me cry every time I watch it) or read the longer story version of our trip. Abby is now a thoughtful, kind, compassionate ten year old with a blog of her own called All About Abby. What will the next ten years bring?

Then

Now

Finally for one more trip down memory lane, here is the video I made for Abby's 10th birthday called Abby's First Decade.

Play with Me, Please...

I guess we haven't been clear enough when we explain the rules about no dogs or dog toys on the furniture to Annie.

Skyping with Students in Mozambique

This morning Karl skyped with 6th and 7th graders in Mozambique. It was 6 am here and 2 pm there. They talked about his Did You Know presentation and about life in our two countries. After that call, he skyped with a group of teachers in Florida about using skype in the classroom. Then he went to work. Pretty cool!
